Description
Baby Gargoyle Geckos for sale
Name / Scientific name: Gargoyle Gecko (Rhacodactylus auriculatus)
Natural habitat: Native to the forested regions of New Caledonia, gargoyle geckos thrive in humid, tropical environments with plenty of foliage and vertical surfaces for climbing.
Recommended enclosure size and type: Juveniles can be kept in a 10-gallon vertical tank, while adults do best in a 20-gallon or larger enclosure with plenty of height. Screen or glass terrariums with good ventilation are ideal to maintain humidity and airflow.
Heat gradient: Gargoyle geckos prefer cooler temperatures, with an ideal range between 72-78°F. They generally do not need additional heating unless room temperatures drop below 70°F. Avoid temperatures above 82°F, as it can stress them.
Humidity requirements: Maintain humidity levels between 50-70%, with regular misting to keep the enclosure humid but not overly wet. A nightly misting allows them to drink from water droplets on surfaces.
Feeding on: Gargoyle geckos thrive on a diet of commercially available gecko diet powders mixed with water, along with occasional live insects like small crickets or dubia roaches for variety. Feed gecko diet 3-4 times a week and insects once a week.
