Description
Honduran Milksnakes for sale
Name / Scientific name: Honduran Milksnake (Lampropeltis triangulum hondurensis)
Natural habitat: Native to the tropical forests of Honduras, these milksnakes are found in a variety of environments, from lowland forests to higher elevations with abundant ground cover.
Recommended enclosure size and type: A PVC or wood enclosure of at least 3×2 feet is suitable for adults, providing plenty of hiding spots and ventilation. Plastic tubs are also appropriate for simpler setups, especially for younger snakes.
Heat gradient: Provide a basking spot around 85-88°F, with a cooler side in the mid-70s. Ambient temperatures in the low 80s allow the snake to regulate its body temperature.
Humidity requirements: Honduran Milksnakes prefer moderate humidity, ideally around 50-60%. A shallow water dish and occasional misting, particularly during shedding, will help maintain adequate hydration without raising the humidity too much.
Feeding on: These milksnakes are carnivores and should be fed appropriately sized rodents. Feed juveniles every 5-7 days, while adults can be fed every 10-14 days, adjusting based on size and condition.
