Description
Veiled Chameleons for sale
Name / Scientific name: Veiled Chameleon (Chamaeleo calyptratus)
Natural habitat: Found in the mountainous regions of Yemen and Saudi Arabia, veiled chameleons inhabit warm, semi-arid environments with plenty of vegetation and basking spots.
Recommended enclosure size and type: Juvenile veiled chameleons can be housed in a 16x16x30-inch enclosure, while adults need at least a 24x24x48-inch enclosure. Vertical screen enclosures are ideal to ensure proper ventilation and allow climbing space.
Heat gradient: Provide a temperature gradient with a basking spot around 85-90°F and an ambient temperature in the low to mid-70s (°F). Ensure nighttime temperatures drop to the low 70s or upper 60s to mimic their natural environment.
Humidity requirements: Maintain humidity levels between 50-70%, with regular misting or an automated misting system. Offer a drip system for drinking, as veiled chameleons prefer to drink water droplets from leaves. You may alternatively spray the enclosure twice a day so that they can drink those water beads off of foliage, screen, etc.
Feeding on: Feed a diet of live insects, such as crickets, dubia roaches, and occasional mealworms or hornworms. Supplement with calcium and vitamin D3 several times a week to support healthy bone development.
