White Eyed Crocodile Skinks for sale
Name / Scientific name: White-Eyed Crocodile Skink (Tribolonotus novaeguineae)
Natural habitat: Native to the rainforests of New Guinea, white-eyed crocodile skinks live in humid, dense underbrush near water sources, where they can hide and forage in leaf litter.
Recommended enclosure size and type: A pair of white-eyed crocodile skinks can comfortably live in a 20-gallon terrarium with plenty of hiding spots and leaf litter. These skinks prefer low light and require a well-ventilated enclosure with a secure lid. These lizards will utilize a large water dish that they can swim in occasionally as well.
Heat gradient: Maintain an ambient temperature of 75-80°F, with a slight warm area of up to 82°F. These skinks do not require intense heat; temperatures above 85°F can stress them. Provide a cool area around 70°F.
Humidity requirements: White-eyed crocodile skinks need high humidity levels around 70-90%. Daily misting and the inclusion of damp moss or a shallow water dish can help maintain the appropriate humidity level.
Feeding on: These skinks are insectivores and thrive on a diet of small live insects such as crickets, mealworms, and small roaches. Feed 3-4 times per week, offering appropriately sized prey items dusted with calcium and vitamin supplements to ensure balanced nutrition.
