Description
Green Tree Pythons for sale
Name / Scientific name: Green Tree Python (Morelia viridis)
Natural habitat: Native to the rainforests of New Guinea, Indonesia, and northern Australia, Green Tree Pythons live in humid, tropical environments and are highly arboreal, spending most of their time in trees.
Recommended enclosure size and type: We recommend a simple plastic enclosure measuring around 12×12 inches for juveniles or a PVC / Wood 3x2x2 feet for adults. Include plenty of horizontal perches at various heights to accommodate their arboreal nature.
Heat gradient: Provide a basking area of 85°F with an ambient temperature of 74-76°F. Avoid overheating, as Green Tree Pythons are sensitive to excessive heat.
Humidity requirements: Maintain high humidity levels of 60-80%. Mist the enclosure regularly and include a water dish to help sustain proper humidity. Ensure good ventilation to prevent stagnant air and mold.
Feeding on: Green Tree Pythons feed on appropriately sized rodents. Juveniles should be fed every 7-10 days, while adults can be fed around twice a month. Prey should not exceed the snake’s mid-body diameter. Monitor feeding to prevent regurgitation, as these snakes can be sensitive to handling after meals.
